High school sweethearts William Wong and Nelly Sanchez have been married for 53 years, so it’s safe to say they know a thing or two about commitment. Which is why we’re lucky to have had them both as part of the MRCO team for 25 of those years!
Meant To Be
Back in August of 2000, William and Nelly reconnected with a childhood friend.
As luck would have it, he was managing an MRCO Taco Bell! William and Nelly applied to join the team, and embarked on yet another successful (working) relationship.
It didn’t take the two lovebirds long to climb the career ladder. They shared that MRCO is full of great people who helped them achieve their goals and open new doors. Both William & Nelly eventually became Shift Managers, and later, William had the opportunity to to become a Restaurant General Manager (RGM). He excelled in that role for 15 years.
Growing Together
The two shared that working together for as long as they have has been a blessing. Talk about a testament to the strength of their relationship — we can’t think of many couples who could do the same!
When asked their favorite part of working together, the couple shared that they‘ve simply loved being and learning together.
Looking Ahead
William and Nelly officially took a step back in 2020, but chose to stay on part-time at our Taco Bell-Pizza Hut Express inside Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital — which they say is a great work environment. Their Restaurant General Manager (RGM), Eddie Carrillo, shared that both William and Nelly have taught the Vanderbilt team a lot.
They don’t have any big celebrations planned for their work anniversary, but they’re looking forward to having a nice day alongside their coworkers, many of whom have become close personal friends.
