We love a good cause for celebration at MRCO, and this time it’s for our market with the best annual results! This friendly competition began two years ago, and takes place across markets in three states, resulting in the winning team being awarded the “Top Performing MRCO Market” trophy that rotates between the winning team each year. Consider it the Stanley Cup of MRCO!

This year’s race was atypical, as it resulted in a tie for two well-deserving teams! Market Coaches Joe Leonard in Tennessee and Tony Cunningham in Georgia are captains of the winning Taco Bell teams. They’ve agreed to share the trophy, with each group enjoying possession for six months at a time.
Winning Strategy
We recently spoke with Tony to learn more about this fun tradition. Tony has been with us since 1998, and cites our family culture and career advancement opportunities as key to his longevity here. “I love the job and our owners are the best anyone could ever ask for,” Tony shares.
According to Tony, all three of our Taco Bell markets are strong performers but the annual contest is a fun way to motivate team members to bring their best each day. “Having people buy-in is the key,” Tony says. “Without that, you can’t achieve your goals.”
